We were the first charity recognized by the

U.S. government ,for children aging out of foster care ,EVER.

Before us, youth aging out of foster care were given a brochure to a homeless shelter ,by their social worker. Right before there 18th birthday. Not to mention that the homeless shelter was almost always full .So, they could not even go there.

Then came Friend In Need

The federal government did not accept former foster children as a needy class, there for you could not start a 501(c)3 charity for them.

We are very proud to say WE CHANGED ALL OF THAT!  

Youth leaving foster care can now get :

*College paid for by the state of California

*Housing

*To continue to receive fostercare funding 

after turning 18

*As well as help to find justice for abuse while in fostercare
